The Lord of the Rings supertrailer in HD
Hi there,
on YouTube there is a version of the LOTR supertrailer that is higher resolution (besides being H.264 encoded) than the one provided on movie-list.

You can download it with keepvid. Its 720p in H.264 with AAC stereo audio.
Does anyone know the source of this? Or is it a NTSC DVD upconvert?

Looks like a up-convert to me. Here are a couple of screenies, one taken from the so called 720 version on YouTube, one from a 1080p source, one from the DVD source and one from movie-list...

Take your pick as to where the source is from, I'm guessing not a HD source. |

I have the HD Teaser Trailers and Trailers for all 3 LOTR movies somewhere on one of my external HDs.

If anyone purchased the Woodstock Blu-Ray it actually had the Lord of the Rings supertrailer in HD on the previews

Hi odj,
thanks for taking the time to do above comparisons! It really looks like the YouTube "HD" trailer has no more information then the one found on the DVD.
I'm even more suprised about the fact that there seems to be an actual 1080p source for this trailer! I found nothing on the net about it at all (besides the mentioned YouTube version).
From your reaction above i assume you had this one screenshot but not the actual trailer at hand, right? Is this screenshot from the Woodstock Blu-ray? If so, we should hurry to rip it!

That 1080p screenshot is not from a trailer, its from the extended edition version of the film.

but i heard its available in HD from the Watchmen DC Blu-ray via the BD-Live on Disc 1. No chance getting our hands on it then i think.

I looked, the Supertrailer is not in HD.
Did they even have trailers in HD back then?
Plus wan't the Supertrailer a Fan Made trailer? |

Nope it was an official trailer released sometime before ROTK. (which is why it has less ROTK compared with the other two) |
